The invention discloses a hollow commercial vehicle front axle and a manufacturing method thereof.The front axle is composed of an axle body and a steel plate spring seat, the axle body is of a hollow structure obtained by conducting end reducing-upsetting, bending and pressing forming on a seamless steel pipe, and a cross beam and a bent neck of the axle body are thin-wall rectangular pipes with equal wall thickness and variable cross sections; the fist part is a thick-wall rectangular cylinder with the height unchanged and the width gradually narrowed from the inner side to the end, a strip-shaped hole is formed in the curved surface of the outer end of the fist part and is welded firmly through a welding plug, and a concave limiting groove is formed in the front side face of the fist part. The steel plate spring seat is composed of an upper cover and a lower support, the upper cover is clamped on the upper portion of the beam, and the lower support is clamped in the middle of the beam and wraps the lower portion of the beam. The hollow commercial vehicle front axle provided by the invention can replace an existing forging, combined welding and punching welding front axle, is light in weight and high in bending strength and torsional strength, and can be easily matched with an existing suspension system for loading; and the shaft body is good in forming quality, free of defects such as folding and outer side cracks in an inner cavity of a fist part and high in shear resistance.
