The invention relates to a fast charging station with an integrated CO2 collector. The present invention relates to a combination of separation of CO2 from ambient air and rapid charging of electric vehicles. In a method for separating and storing carbon dioxide (32) from ambient air (30), in a first step, the ambient air (30) is conducted through a filter (12) for adsorbing carbon dioxide (32), in a second step, the filter (12) is heated in order to release the adsorbed carbon dioxide (32), characterized in that in order to heat the filter (12), the carbon dioxide (32) is separated from the filter (12). Waste heat generated on the at least one fast charging pile during fast charging of the at least one electric vehicle is used.
