The invention relates to the technical field of electric automobiles, and provides an energy monitoring method and device for an extended-range automobile. The method comprises the steps that the energy state and the traveled mileage of a target automobile are continuously obtained; if the current SOC value is smaller than the extended range charging SOC value and is in a descending trend and the current fuel system is in a non-working state, determining that the current driving power source is a power battery; if the current SOC value is smaller than the extended range charging SOC value and is in a descending trend and the current fuel system is in a working state, determining that the current driving power source comprises a power battery and the fuel system; if the current SOC value is not less than the extended range charging SOC value or the change trend is not reduced, determining that the current driving power source is a fuel system; and based on the current driving power source, according to the traveled mileage, determining the pure electric traveled mileage corresponding to the power battery and the fuel traveled mileage corresponding to the fuel system. According to the method, the contribution degrees of different power energy sources are accurately distinguished, so that the economical efficiency and the cruising ability of the vehicle are improved.
