The embodiment of the invention provides a railway transponder arrangement method, and solves the problem of how to arrange transponders to improve the positioning precision. The railway transponder system provided by the embodiment of the invention comprises a first group of transponders, a second group of transponders, a third group of transponders, a fourth group of transponders, a fifth group of transponders, a sixth group of transponders and a seventh group of transponders, wherein the first group of transponders is arranged on an exit section of a locomotive from a locomotive depot or a locomotive turn-back section; the second group of transponders are arranged in front of an in-station track outbound signal machine; the third group of transponders are arranged in a platform section; the fourth group of transponders are arranged in the first direction of the pull-in signal machine; the fifth group of transponders are arranged in the second direction of the train route annunciator; the sixth group of transponders are arranged in the third direction of the reverse arrival annunciator; and the seventh group of transponders are arranged in front of the split-phase section marks.
