In the tire conveying device (1), three arms (23) are provided with hook parts (25) protruding outwards at the lower end parts. The arm expansion/contraction device (77) moves the arm (23) in the horizontal expansion/contraction direction. The Z-axis drive device (75) raises and lowers the arm (23). The first to third laser distance sensors (31A-31C) are disposed on the outside of a first circle (C1) including the tip of the hook section (25) in a state where the arm (23) is positioned above the tire (T) and in a reduced-diameter state. When a tire (T) is detected by at least one of the laser distance sensors (31A-31C), the controller (51) determines that the position of the arm (23) is improper.
