The invention belongs to the technical field of automotive electronics, and particularly relates to a radar ranging method, which comprises the following steps of: judging a radar working state and determining an alarm interval according to an automotive communication system, and acquiring vehicle driving state information or environment information of an automobile by the automotive communication system for judging the radar working state. The method comprises the steps that radar working states include a conventional state and a high-response state, corresponding alarm interval information is set in each working state, then, the radar collects obstacle information, the collected obstacle distance L is compared with an alarm interval, and an alarm is given according to a comparison result. According to the invention, the alarm interval can be dynamically adjusted according to the vehicle driving state information or the environment information of the vehicle, and a better working mode is selected for the radar, so that the ranging accuracy of the radar is improved, and the reliability of the auxiliary driving function is improved.
