Provided is a rear vehicle body structure capable of absorbing an impact load from the rear of a vehicle even when a battery mounting space is extended toward the rear side of the vehicle to increase the mounting amount of the battery. A rear vehicle body structure (A) is provided with: a rear side frame (90) extending in the front-rear direction of the vehicle at the rear part of the vehicle; a rear-side battery rack (33) which extends in the vehicle width direction at the vehicle rear of the battery (B) and at the vehicle front of the rear-side rack (90), and which protects the battery (B); and a frame bracket (40) connecting the rear side frame (90) to the rear side battery rack (33).
