The invention relates to a system and a method for calculating residual electric quantity of a storage battery. The system comprises an initialization electric quantity calculation module, a real-time utilization electric quantity calculation module and a residual electric quantity calculation module, the initialized electric quantity calculation module is used for acquiring the initial electric quantity of a vehicle storage battery; the real-time electricity consumption calculation module is used for calculating the real-time electricity consumption of the vehicle storage battery; and the residual electric quantity calculation module is used for calculating the residual electric quantity of the vehicle storage battery according to the initial electric quantity and the real-time used electric quantity. The method can be widely applied to the field of battery power management of low-cost electrically-driven vehicles without a battery management system, and can accurately and intelligently calculate the remaining power of the storage battery, thereby accurately displaying the remaining mileage, solving the product pain point, improving the product selling point and improving the user experience.
