The invention relates to a tightening device for a safety belt device, comprising: a gas generator (10) for generating a compressed gas; a piston (2) which can be driven by the compressed gas; a pull cord (5) connected to the piston (2), which pull cord can be connected to a belt component displaced in a tightening movement and extends through the piston (2); a guide (3) arranged on the pull cord (2); and a tightener tube (6) for accommodating the piston (2) and the guide (3), characterized in that the guide (3) is arranged on a side of the piston (2) facing away from the gas generator (10) and is movable relative to the piston (2).
