The invention provides a battery charging method and a vehicle electrical system. A charging pile can safely and efficiently charge a low-SOC power battery in a low-temperature environment. A battery charge control method is applied to a vehicle electrical system including a current control unit including a semiconductor device. The method comprises the steps that when the temperature of a battery is lower than a first preset temperature, a current control unit is controlled to be in a first state, and the first state comprises the state that a semiconductor device is reversely connected to a circuit; requesting to send a first charging request, wherein the first charging request comprises a first charging current; when the battery temperature reaches the first preset temperature, the current control unit is controlled to be in a second state, and the second state comprises the state that the semiconductor device is connected out of the circuit or the state that the semiconductor device is positively connected into the circuit; a second charging request is requested to be sent, the second charging request comprises second charging current, and the battery is charged with the second charging current.
