In order to provide a device (20) for a propeller (30) having at least one receiving space (22) and at least one rudder (21), a square receiving space (22) being formed in front of the rudder (21) in the sailing direction (F) of the vessel, and by means of such a device (20) in order to reduce the propulsion power demand of the vessel (100), it is proposed that the square receiving space (22) is formed in front of the receiving space (22) of the propeller (30) in the sailing direction (F), at least one pre-nozzle (23) comprising at least one guide surface (24) is arranged, and at least one side fin (25) is arranged on the rudder (21).
