The invention discloses a detection robot and a concrete filled steel tubular column compactness detection method.The robot for detecting the compactness of the concrete filled steel tubular column comprises six detection units, and each detection unit is composed of a moving climbing device, a detection device, a radial telescopic device and a telescopic arm rod. The radial telescopic device is mainly used for achieving small-range diameter changing of the detection robot, the telescopic arm rod conducts large-range diameter changing according to the worm and gear rotation principle, and the rapid diameter changing effect is achieved. The detection units are connected through high-strength bolts, and the six detection units jointly form the robot for detecting the compactness of the concrete filled steel tubular column. The detection robot has the advantages of automatic operation, more stable detection data, quick assembly and disassembly of the detection device and the like, and effectively solves the problems of low speed and extremely high risk of manual detection of the concrete filled steel tubular column.
