There is provided a power conversion and dual electric drive device (2), a system comprising the device (2), a method (12) of operating the device (2) and a computer program for performing the method (12), which enables charging of a dual drive electric vehicle (EV) from a three-phase grid without generating any torque, meanwhile, a traction system and a motor inductor are used for all existing power electronic equipment. Thus, space is saved and power density, efficiency and reliability are improved.
