One or more embodiments of the present disclosure relate to an electric vehicle charging connector. A charging connector is provided. The charging connector includes a body having a first body end and a second body end. The charging connector also includes a cable connected to the first body end. The cable accommodates at least one conductor. The charging connector also includes at least one contact positioned at the second body end and electrically coupled to the at least one conductor. The charging connector also includes a mating interface connected to the second body end. The mating interface has a shield and at least one contact dome surrounding the at least one contact. The at least one contact dome is at least partially formed from a first material having a first flame resistance, and the shroud is at least partially formed from a second material having a second flame resistance. The first flame resistance is higher than the second flame resistance.
