The invention provides an electrochromic device and a rearview mirror, the electrochromic device comprises a first substrate, an electrochromic membrane and a second substrate, the electrochromic membrane comprises a first conductive substrate layer, an electrochromic middle layer and a second conductive substrate layer; the sealing glue layer is located in the circumferential direction of the electrochromic membrane, a containing cavity is defined by the sealing glue layer, the first substrate and the second substrate, and the containing cavity is suitable for containing the electrochromic membrane; one part of the first extraction electrode is arranged on the first conductive substrate layer, and the other part of the first extraction electrode is at least partially located in the sealing glue layer; one part of the second extraction electrode is arranged on the second conductive substrate layer, and at least one part of the other part of the second extraction electrode is located in the sealant layer; wherein the other part of the first extraction electrode is provided with a first groove, or/and the other part of the second extraction electrode is provided with a second groove. According to the electrochromic device provided by the invention, the curing effect of the sealant layer is improved.
