The mechanical limiting device comprises a pipe sleeve; the rotating shaft comprises an input shaft and a shaft sleeve, at least one part of the input shaft extends into the pipe sleeve, the shaft sleeve is fixedly connected to the input shaft in a sleeving mode, and a first thread is arranged on the outer wall of the shaft sleeve; the inner cavity wall of the limiting nut is provided with a second thread matched with the first thread in a spiral mode. The guide mechanism comprises a guide block arranged on the outer wall of the limiting nut and a guide groove formed in the inner wall of the pipe sleeve; the limiting mechanism comprises a first limiting part and a second limiting part which are located at the two ends of the first thread. In the field of automobile steering mechanisms, the problem that a steer-by-wire column does not have mechanical hard limiting is solved, the mechanical hard limiting is added to serve as redundancy protection of electric soft limiting, the steering column can be limited even if an automobile is in a power-off state, and therefore it is guaranteed that rotation of the steering column does not exceed the stroke, and the safety of the automobile is guaranteed. The limiting device is compact and simple in structure, easy to arrange and high in universality.
