Methods and systems for customizing an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) of a vehicle are disclosed. In one example, a system for an electric vehicle (101) includes a current sensor (202) disposed on a power line (115) coupling a battery (114) of the electric vehicle (101) with an inverter (104) of the electric vehicle (101); a directional velocity sensor (204) disposed at a motor (106) of the electric vehicle (101); and a high voltage direct current contactor (206) arranged on an electric power line (115) coupling a battery (114) of the electric vehicle (101) with the inverter (104) upstream of the current sensor (202), the high voltage direct current contactor (206) being configured to allow current to flow from the battery (114) to the inverter (104) when the high voltage direct current contactor (206) is in a closed position, and to allow current to flow from the battery (114) to the inverter (104) when the high voltage direct current contactor (206) is in a closed position. And current flow is not allowed when the high voltage DC contactor (206) is in the open position.
