The detection method comprises the following steps: S1, when the elevator without the machine room is detected to be no-load, when a counter weight is pressed on a buffer, the counter weight is not pressed on the buffer; when the traction force is upward, whether the elevator without the machine room rises or not is judged; s2, detecting the traction force of the machine-room-less elevator when the machine-room-less elevator is unloaded and ascends at a normal speed; s3, detecting the traction force of the machine-room-less elevator when the machine-room-less elevator is loaded and descends at a normal speed; and S4, according to the detection results of S1, S2 and S3, whether the traction force of the elevator without the machine room is in a normal state or not is judged. Manual intervention is not needed, equipment is few, installation is simple, and detection precision is high.
