The invention relates to a method of controlling a vehicle thermal management system. The method includes determining an outdoor air component (OAF) based on a temperature of the battery when outdoor air needs to be introduced into the passenger compartment, where the OAF increases as the temperature of the battery increases and the OAF decreases as the temperature of the battery decreases.
