The invention discloses an exhaust method and system for a hybrid electric vehicle cooling system, and the method comprises the steps: controlling a vehicle to enter an ON gear, and building the communication between an upper computer and a vehicle control unit VECU of the vehicle; after the cooling liquid in the cooling system of the vehicle is injected to a preset standard liquid level, the hydraulic pressure of the cooling system is detected through a hydraulic pressure detection module in an upper computer, and whether the hydraulic pressure of the cooling system is abnormal or not is judged; and if the hydraulic pressure of the cooling system is abnormal, an exhaust starting instruction is sent to the VECU through an exhaust control module of the upper computer, so that the VECU controls a cooling water pump of the cooling system to exhaust. The cooling water pump of the cooling system is controlled by the upper computer to exhaust air, the vehicle only needs to be turned on to the ON gear and does not need to be started, the vehicle is prevented from being started for a long time when air exists in the cooling system, and therefore vehicle damage caused by insufficient filling of cooling liquid is avoided.
