The system comprises an image acquisition module, a first image processing module, a second image processing module and a display module, the image acquisition module is used for acquiring first image data around the vehicle; the first image processing module is used for processing the first image data to obtain second image data; the second image processing module is used for performing event processing on the second image data to obtain an event processing result; warning information is generated according to the event processing result; and the display module is used for displaying the second image data and the warning information. According to the embodiment of the invention, the basic function of the electronic rearview mirror can be realized through the image acquisition module, the first image processing module and the display module, and the starting time of the electronic rearview mirror can be shortened only by starting the first image processing module. Events are processed through the second image processing module and the display module, and the complexity and the production cost of the electronic rearview mirror system can be reduced.
