An auxiliary power unit for an aircraft (100) is described. The invention relates to an aircraft comprising an air compressor (10) coupled to an air suction device (8) for sucking air from outside the aircraft, said compressor supplying compressed air to a manifold (12). The manifold is configured to supply air to a startup module (26) and an environmental control system (16) of at least one propulsion system (150) of a hydrogen-dependent aircraft. The manifold (12) is further configured to supply air to a fuel cell stack (14) arranged to provide a power generation function intended to power a non-propulsion system of the aircraft (100), said fuel cell stack (14) being further supplied with hydrogen from a storage tank (160) that supplies hydrogen to said at least one propulsion system of the aircraft.
