The present disclosure provides a movable cross-member adjacent to a vehicle door. An assembly for a vehicle includes a front pillar and a rear pillar spaced apart along a vehicle longitudinal axis. The front pillar and the rear pillar define a door opening. The assembly includes a first rail supported by a front pillar and a second rail supported by a rear pillar. The assembly includes a lower rod and an upper rod that is movable upward relative to the lower rod along a first track and a second track. The upper lever is movable between a lowered position and a raised position. The assembly includes a cross beam pivotally coupled to a lower rod and an upper rod.
