The shock absorber (10) is provided with an outer cylinder (17) and a bracket (18) having a pair of extension parts (27, 28). The outer cylinder (17) has an opening, and a fixed inner cylinder is inserted into the outer cylinder (17). The pair of extension sections (27, 28) extend outward in the radial direction of the outer cylinder (17) from different positions spaced apart in the circumferential direction of the outer cylinder (17). Holes (35-38) and rigidity reducing sections (41, 42) are provided in the pair of extension sections (27, 28). The hole portions (35-38) are provided at positions facing attachment holes of the attachment member disposed between the pair of extension portions (27, 28). The rigidity-reducing sections (41, 42) are disposed at the same position as the holes (35-38) in the axial direction of the outer cylinder (17) and at positions on the outer cylinder (17) side with respect to the holes (35-38). The rigidity of the rigidity reducing parts (41, 42) is lower than a position different from the arrangement position.
