The invention relates to a towing tank wave absorbing system and method capable of rapidly dissipating energy, and the system comprises a sliding rod which is horizontally disposed on one side wall of a water tank and can horizontally move along the side wall; each wave absorbing unit comprises a wave absorbing mechanism and at least two rotating supports, one end of each rotating support is connected with the side wall and can rotate relative to the side wall, the other end of each rotating support is connected with the wave absorbing mechanism and can rotate relative to the wave absorbing mechanism, each wave absorbing unit further comprises a traction mechanism, each traction mechanism comprises a traction rope, one end of each traction rope is connected with the corresponding sliding rod, and the other end of each traction rope is connected with the corresponding sliding rod. The other end is connected with the wave absorbing mechanism; the power device can drive the sliding rod to horizontally move along the side wall; and the control device comprises a servo driving motor and an encoder used for recording the number of turns of rotation of the servo driving motor, and the control device controls operation parameters of the servo driving motor. According to the towing tank wave absorbing system capable of rapidly dissipating energy, the defect that the ascending and descending positions of the push plate in an existing experiment are inaccurate can be overcome.
