The invention discloses an elevator braking device and a control method thereof, and belongs to the technical field of elevators. The elevator brake device comprises a brake arm assembly, a brake arm assembly and a brake arm assembly, wherein the brake arm assembly is provided with a brake part; brake arm assemblies are hinged to the two opposite sides, in the first direction, of the support correspondingly, and the brake arm assemblies on the two sides of the support are configured to clamp a traction sheave of the elevator; and the hydraulic driving device is located on one side of the support in the second direction, the first direction is perpendicular to the second direction, hydraulic movable parts capable of moving in the opposite directions or in the opposite directions are arranged on the two opposite sides of the hydraulic driving device in the second direction correspondingly, and each hydraulic movable part is hinged to the corresponding brake arm assembly. When the elevator is out of control, the hydraulic movable part of the hydraulic driving device acts to drive the brake arm assembly to swing, so that the brake part clamps the traction wheel, a lift car of the elevator can be prevented from falling, accidents are avoided, the hydraulic driving device can keep the current brake state even in the power failure state, and the reliability is high.

    本申请公开了一种电梯制动装置及其控制方法,属于电梯技术领域。本申请的一种电梯制动装置包括:制动臂组件,具有制动部;支架,支架沿第一方向的相对两侧分别铰接有制动臂组件,且支架的两侧的制动臂组件被配置为将电梯的曳引轮夹持;液压驱动装置,沿第二方向位于支架的一侧,第一方向与第二方向垂直,沿第二方向,液压驱动装置的相对两侧分别具有能够向相反方向或相向移动的液压活动部,每个液压活动部与每个制动臂组件铰接。当电梯失控时,液压驱动装置的液压活动部动作,驱动制动臂组件摆动,使制动部将曳引轮夹持,可以防止电梯的轿厢下坠,避免事故的发生,即使在停电的状态,液压驱动装置也可以保持当前的制动状态,具有较高的可靠性。
