A handle vehicle control mode safety framework of an unmanned vehicle comprises a handle, a gateway, an automatic driving controller and a chassis, the gateway is arranged in the handle, the automatic driving controller and the chassis are installed on the unmanned vehicle, communication connection is established between the gateway and the automatic driving controller, and the gateway is connected with the automatic driving controller. The automatic driving controller is in communication connection with the chassis, and when a safety officer controls the unmanned vehicle through a handle, the safety officer can control the unmanned vehicle through the handle when the safety officer does not concentrate or mistakenly operate, such as vehicle sliding caused by non-operation after the handle is engaged in the N gear, and vehicle accidents possibly caused by continuous pressing of the maximum accelerator when the handle is engaged in the D gear or the R gear, the safety officer can control the unmanned vehicle through the handle. A 0 * 383 message, namely Autodriver = 0, can be issued through the gateway; handcontrol = 0 is sent to the chassis and the automatic driving controller, and the automatic driving controller is used for issuing braking deceleration to the chassis to brake the vehicle so as to avoid accidents.
