The invention discloses an electromechanical brake and a method of operating the same. An electromechanical brake according to the present embodiment may include: a piston provided so as to be movable back and forth to press a brake pad; a power conversion unit receiving a driving force from the actuator to convert a rotational motion into a linear motion and provide the linear motion to the piston; and a position adjusting portion that adjusts a relative position of the piston with respect to the power conversion unit, the power conversion unit including: a main shaft that receives a driving force from the actuator and rotates; and a nut connected to the main shaft and moving forward or backward inside the piston by rotation of the main shaft in the first direction or the second direction, thereby moving the piston forward and backward; the position adjusting portion includes: an adjusting screw provided on an outer side of the nut and rotating together with the nut; a first thread formed on the outer peripheral surface of the adjusting screw; a second screw thread formed on the inner circumferential surface of the piston and engaged with the first screw thread; and the adjuster is arranged between the main shaft and the nut and is compressed or expanded into an original shape when the rotation amount of the main shaft exceeds a preset rotation amount, so that the nut and the adjusting screw rotate in the first direction or the second direction, and the relative position of the piston moves forwards or backwards.

    本发明公开一种电子机械制动器及其操作方法。根据本实施例的电子机械制动器可以包括:活塞,可前后移动地设置,以按压制动垫;动力转换单元,从致动器接收驱动力,以将旋转运动转换为线性运动后提供给活塞;以及位置调整部,调整相对于动力转换单元的活塞的相对位置,动力转换单元包括:主轴,从致动器接收驱动力并旋转;以及螺母,连接到主轴,并且通过主轴的第一方向或第二方向的旋转在活塞的内侧前移或后移,从而使活塞前后移动;位置调整部包括:调整螺杆,设置在螺母的外侧并且与螺母一起旋转;第一螺纹,形成在调整螺杆的外周面;第二螺纹,形成在活塞的内周面,并且与第一螺纹啮合;以及调整器,设置在主轴和螺母之间,并且在主轴的旋转量超过预设旋转量时压缩或膨胀为原来的形状,以使螺母和调整螺杆沿第一方向或第二方向旋转,从而使活塞的相对位置前移或后移。
