The invention discloses hoisting equipment and a hoisting method for building construction, and relates to the technical field of construction building material hoisting or hoisting, the hoisting equipment mainly comprises a rack and a hoisting mechanism, the rack comprises a supporting part and a mounting part, and the mounting part is provided with a first supporting table and a second supporting table; the lifting mechanism comprises a main lifting assembly and an auxiliary lifting assembly, and the main lifting assembly and the auxiliary lifting assembly are installed on the first supporting table and the second supporting table correspondingly. A universal connecting piece is arranged between the main lifting assembly and the auxiliary lifting assembly, the universal connecting piece comprises a first end and a second end, one end is rotationally connected with the main lifting assembly, and the two ends are universally connected with the auxiliary lifting assembly; the hoisting method is realized based on the hoisting equipment. According to the hoisting equipment and the hoisting method, the main hoisting assembly and the auxiliary hoisting assembly are arranged, and a relatively free adjusting space is formed between the main hoisting assembly and the auxiliary hoisting assembly, so that multi-point hoisting operation at different positions can be coped, and the stable hoisting requirement of more complex and special-shaped hoisted objects can be met.
