The invention provides a temperature control method based on an automotive thermal management system and an automobile, the automotive thermal management system comprises a cooling liquid loop and a refrigerant loop, and the method comprises the steps that a temperature control request is obtained, and according to the temperature control request, information of the environment where the automotive thermal management system is located and current state information, the temperature of the automotive thermal management system is controlled; determining a temperature control mode matched with a battery and/or a passenger compartment in the thermal management system for the vehicle; in the matched temperature control mode, a cooling liquid loop is controlled to conduct heating treatment through electric drive waste heat or an auxiliary heating loop; and/or controlling the refrigerant loop to perform refrigeration and/or heating treatment. The problems that an existing heat management system of the new energy automobile is poor in temperature control effect and even cannot operate are solved.
