Apparatus and methods are disclosed that may be used to calibrate a sensor of a vehicle. A calibration system disclosed herein includes a trigger device configured to detect a first sensing event. The calibration system also includes a plurality of sensor targets. Further, the calibration system includes a processor configured to reveal a plurality of sensor targets within the given area in response to the first sensing event. The calibration system may be configured to detect light from the LIDAR impacting the light sensor. In response to detecting light from the LIDAR, a plurality of lights may be illuminated, including visible light and infrared light, to correspond to the location and timing of the LIDAR pulse.
