The optical remote sensing satellite configuration comprises a satellite deck, a solar cell array, a satellite platform area, a load adapter, an optical camera and a satellite-rocket separation device. The load adapter is arranged in the satellite deck, the solar cell arrays are installed on the two sides of the satellite platform area, the satellite-rocket separation device is arranged on the outer side of a satellite body, the satellite-rocket separation device is installed on the back face of the satellite platform area, and the satellite-rocket separation device is connected with the load adapter; the optical camera is fixedly connected with the load adapter, and the load adapter provides an installation interface for the optical camera. According to the invention, the whole satellite inertia is low, the whole satellite maneuver is rapid and stable, the installation environment of the optical camera is improved, and the method is suitable for batch side-hanging type rapid launching.
