Provided is a thermal management method applied to a thermal management system comprising a heating device (200), a battery pack (100) and a pipeline subsystem (300), the pipeline subsystem being in thermal contact with the heating device and the battery pack, the thermal management method comprising: when the heating device is in a working state, detecting a temperature of the heating device and a battery pack temperature of the battery pack, and when the temperature of the heating device is higher than that of the battery pack, heat is transferred from the heating device to the battery pack through the pipeline subsystem. The heat management efficiency can be improved, and the heat management cost is reduced. A thermal management system is also provided.
