The invention relates to systems and methods for failsafe resolver excitation. The method comprises the following steps: generating a rotary transformer excitation signal; and providing the resolver excitation signal to the input end of the first resolver control circuit and the input end of the second resolver control circuit. The method further includes, in response to the first resolver control circuit detecting a fault in a resolver excitation signal provided to the first resolver control circuit: biasing the first resolver amplifier using the first resolver control circuit; and transmit to the second resolver control circuit, via a communication bus between the first resolver control circuit and the second resolver control circuit, an indication that the first resolver control circuit detects a fault in the resolver excitation signal provided to the first resolver control circuit.
