A charging port assembly (100) includes a housing (110) having a DC section (114), the housing having a DC terminal (116) received in a DC terminal channel (118) for mating with a DC charging connector and an AC terminal (120) received in an AC terminal channel (116) for mating with an AC charging connector. The DC terminals include a proximity terminal (120d) and a ground terminal (120c). The proximity terminal and the ground terminal include a termination end (164) received in a rear cavity (150) of the housing. The charging port assembly includes a proximity resistor assembly (200) received in the back cavity, the proximity resistor assembly having a resistor (202), a first resistor conductor (204) coupled between the resistor and the termination of the proximity terminal, and a second resistor conductor (206) coupled between the resistor and the termination of the ground terminal.
