The invention relates to cabin climate control based on cabin occupancy. Various disclosed embodiments include a system, a vehicle, and a controller for a vehicle. An exemplary system includes a climate control system configured to heat or cool a space and a controller configured to provide control signals to the climate control system. The occupancy sensor is configured to detect one or more occupants within the space and provide occupancy information to the controller. The door sensor is configured to detect an open state or a closed state of the door, and is configured to provide door state information to the controller. The control signal from the controller is based on a combination of occupancy information and door status information.
