The high-voltage network can be connected to an energy source (220) by means of at least one switch (230) and is coupled to the low-voltage network (295) by means of a DC-DC converter (250). The method comprises the step of determining (110) a first voltage (U1) at the energy source (220). A second voltage (U2) at the intermediate circuit capacitor (210) is determined (120). A first difference (D1) between the first voltage (U1) and the second voltage (U2) is determined (130). According to the determined first difference (D1), the DC voltage converter (250) is controlled (140) into the boost converter operating mode in order to charge the intermediate circuit capacitor (210).
