When the controller learns that the elevator car descends at an overspeed, the controller starts the driving unit to drive the buffer strip to break away from the connecting piece and stretch across the middle of the hoistway, the elevator car which descends at the overspeed is intercepted and buffered, the effect of buffering in advance is achieved, the descending speed and impact force of the elevator car are effectively reduced, and the service life of the elevator car is prolonged. The buffer strip and the buffer in the shaft pit are combined for buffering and damping, the purpose of double buffering and damping is achieved, and the safety of passengers is guaranteed.
