The disclosure relates to systems and methods for receiving environmental data from device sensors. A computing system stores environmental data in an environmental feature database at the computing system for a plurality of geographic locations. A computing system receives data indicating one or more environmental characteristics of a particular geographic location from one or more remote systems. A computing system accesses stored environmental data for a particular geographic location to determine whether an environmental feature is included in an environmental feature database. The operations further include, in response to determining that the environmental feature is included in the environmental feature database, updating a confidence value associated with the environmental feature. In response to determining that the one or more environmental features are not included in the environmental feature database, the computing system adds the environmental features to the environmental feature database in association with the geographic location.
