The invention provides a train tail device which comprises a train tail host installed at the tail of a train and a train tail locomotive station installed at the head of the train, the train tail host comprises a first NB-IoT communication unit, and the train tail locomotive station comprises a second NB-IoT communication unit; the train tail host is used for generating train tail application data and uploading the train tail application data to a railway internal network through the first NB-IoT communication unit; the train tail host is further used for sending the train tail application data to the train tail locomotive station through the first NB-IoT communication unit; and the train tail locomotive station is used for receiving the train tail application data from the train tail host through the second NB-IoT communication unit. Compared with related technologies, the method and the device have the advantages that manual downloading of the train tail application data from a downloading port of the train tail device by using special equipment is not needed, the collection process is simple, and the collection efficiency is high.
