The present disclosure provides operation of a vehicle static generator. A controller of a vehicle increases a maximum state of charge threshold of the battery and decreases a minimum state of charge threshold of the battery when the vehicle is within a predefined geo-fenced area and in response to the vehicle entering a park gear. The controller also decreases the maximum state of charge threshold and increases the minimum state of charge threshold when the vehicle is within the predefined geo-fenced area and in response to the vehicle leaving park.
