The invention discloses a variable wheel hub mechanism capable of changing the cross section of a tire and automatically adjusting the tire pressure. The variable wheel hub mechanism comprises a wheel hub inner end, a wheel hub outer end and a wheel hub air storage tank, wherein the wheel hub outer end axially moves relative to the wheel hub inner end without fixed-axis rotation, and the wheel hub air storage tank is in threaded connection with the wheel hub inner end; a cylindrical hole is formed in the center of the outer end face of the hub wheel outer end, and a thrust bearing is installed in the cylindrical hole. First through holes which are circumferentially distributed around the cylindrical hole are formed in the outer end surface of the hub wheel outer end; a threaded hole is formed in the center of the guide plate, and a gear threaded piece is in threaded connection with the interior of the threaded hole; a motor is mounted in the motor mounting hole, and a motor gear connected with an output shaft of the motor is in meshed connection with a gear structure in the gear threaded part, so that the outer end of the hub wheel axially moves between the inner end of the hub wheel and the guide plate. The tire width, the flatness ratio and the tire pressure can be properly adjusted according to different road conditions and automobile working conditions, and the performance of an automobile is effectively improved.
