The invention discloses an AC/DC energy storage charging pile capable of self-monitoring and an operation control method thereof. The charging pile comprises a load monitoring module, a primary automatic control module, an AC charging module and a DC charging module. Relay protection devices are arranged in the primary automatic control module and the load monitoring module; the AC/DC energy storage charging pile locates a problem circuit based on a relay protection device, and cuts off a fault part from a system to realize self-monitoring; the load monitoring module is connected with an alternating-current power grid in the charging station to access alternating-current electric energy, and monitors the alternating-current power grid load in the charging station in real time; and the primary automatic control module distributes alternating-current electric energy to the alternating-current charging module and the direct-current charging module according to real-time information provided by the load monitoring module and information feedback of the alternating-current power monitoring module. A fault line can be accurately positioned, and subsequent maintenance is facilitated.
