A friction limiting turbine gyroscope is a compact and efficient mechanism that converts the energy of a moving fluid into electrical energy. When fluid passes through its spokes, the flywheel of the gyroscope rotates, and peripherally disposed magnets act on nearby movable field coils to generate power. The spokes of the flywheel are optimized for the flow and density of the fluid, with the ability to use shape memory alloy transitions and rotate about their center of pressure, allowing the flywheel to capture more energy from the fluid flowing through their surfaces under all conditions. Due to the inherent stability effect generated by the gyroscope, the mechanical energy loss is reduced. Due to stability, the magnetic bearing field effectively supports the gyroscope, and mechanical interference in rotation is eliminated.
