The invention discloses a traction transmission system. The system comprises an industrial frequency transformer, a multi-traction converter and a multi-phase traction motor, wherein the single-phase alternating current ends of the traction converters are sequentially connected in series between the secondary side output ends of the industrial frequency transformer to form a cascaded H-bridge structure; and the three-phase alternating current end of each traction converter is connected with a group of stator windings of the multi-phase traction motor, so that each traction converter jointly drives the multi-phase traction motor. The multi-phase traction motor is driven by adopting a topological structure of the multi-cascade traction converter, so that the power output pressure of a single traction converter is reduced, and conditions are created for the use of low-voltage-grade power semiconductor devices; therefore, on the basis of the advantages of small packaging, low price, high maturity and low loss of the low-voltage-level power semiconductor device, miniaturization and light weight of system equipment can be realized, and the working frequency, the power density and the stability of the system are improved.
