In particular, an aircraft brake control system for controlling anti-skid braking of wheels of an aircraft is provided, the system including a control assembly (300) having a mode controller (327) that sets a mode of operation of an anti-skid braking calculator (325), the anti-slip brake calculator (325) is configured to: set a first mode in which the anti-slip brake calculator applies a first limit level to a rate of rise of an anti-slip brake command (330) when an input (305) indicative of a brake energy supply configuration indicates that a first brake energy supply is being used; and setting, when the input (305) indicates that the second brake energy supply is being used, a second mode in which the skid brake calculator applies a lower second limit level on the rate of rise of the skid brake command.
