The invention relates to a control method for controlling a road vehicle (1) during slipping of a drive wheel (3), the drive wheel being rotated by an internal combustion engine (4) having a plurality of cylinders (11) arranged in two rows (10) and having a plurality of fuel injectors (16) respectively injecting fuel into the corresponding cylinders. The control method comprises the following steps: detecting slippage of at least one driving wheel; and controlling the internal combustion engine with a signal rule only during the slip of at least one drive wheel, which signal rule operates the internal combustion engine in an abnormal manner in order to generate abnormal vibrations and/or abnormal noise that can be perceived by the driver. The internal combustion engine has two twin control units (18), each of which is associated with a corresponding row (10), controls all and individual injectors of its own row (10) and initiates a signal rule completely independently and autonomously with respect to the other control unit.
