The invention discloses an evaluation method for overhanging launching of a semi-submersible barge bearing ship, and the method comprises the steps: obtaining the allowable stress of a material of an overhanging structure; respectively calculating the maximum shearing force of the overhanging structure at the base line section, the total gravity of the overhanging structure, the maximum stress of the overhanging structure on the base line section, the allowable shearing force and allowable bending moment of the material of the semi-submersible barge stern and the total bending moment of the overhanging structure relative to the base point; if the following conditional expression is met, the ship to be launched can be launched successfully by using the semi-submersible barge: Q is greater than or equal to F; sigma < = sigma 1; f1 > = F; m1 > = M; wherein Q is the maximum shearing force of the overhanging structure on the base line section, F is the total gravity of the overhanging structure, sigma is the maximum stress of the overhanging structure on the base line section, and sigma 1 is the allowable material stress of the overhanging structure; f1 is the allowable shearing force of the material of the semi-submersible barge stern, M1 is the allowable bending moment of the material of the semi-submersible barge stern, and M is the total bending moment of the overhanging structure relative to the base point.
