The present disclosure provides directional beamforming communications for remote vehicle operators and users. A remote assistance system programmed for vehicle park assist or other remote vehicle operating features includes a selective ultrasound beamforming amplitude modulation (AM) system configured and/or programmed to transmit an audible alert to a primary user via ultrasound beamforming AM. The system locates a mobile device that a primary user is using to launch the system. The system locates a primary user and other users in the vicinity, and determines other users that may be associated with the vehicle and the primary user. The system defines and reforms the target zone to include only those associated with the primary user and the vehicle. The system electronically or mechanically steers a transducer array to steer an ultrasound beam with an AM audio alert to a target zone where only people within the target zone can hear messages.
