The rework component (400) includes an upper composite layer (404E) including an upper perimeter (408) extending beyond a damaged region (402) of the composite structure (403), and a bottom composite layer (404A) between the composite structure (403) and the upper composite layer (404E), the bottom composite layer (404A) including a bottom perimeter (410) extending beyond the upper perimeter (408) of the upper composite layer (404E). The rework part (400) further includes a bottom adhesive layer (406A) that adheres the bottom composite layer (404A) to the composite structure (403), and a rework part adhesive layer (406E) that adheres the upper composite layer (404E) to the bottom composite layer (404A) or the intermediate composite layer (404D).
